Quick GUADEC report.
As I sit here in a currently very wet London manning the fort, the rest of the OH gang are over in Istanbul, Turkey attending this years GUADEC - The GNOME users and developers european conference. Today was pretty much OH talk day with presentations by OH folks on Poky development tools, Clutter internals, GeoClue, and GEGL.

By all accounts so far, the talks went well and were very well received. Well done folks! Just don’t forget my Turkish delight..!
Its rumored a number of OHMen hitched a ride with the gang to Istanbul. There looking for nice new homes. If you think you can offer one, kindly grab and convince one of the various OH people at the conference.
Obama visits Vernier
Senator Barack Obama paid a surprise visit to our good friends at Vernier (makers of the Labquest device).

Seems he got the chance to play with a Poky and GNOME Mobile powered Labquest and attach his signature to one:

OHMen Arrived.

The OHMen arrived this week at the office. Limited to just 50 men, they’ll soon be departing to our various friends around the world.
If one lands on your doorstep for adoption, please take good care of him and in return he’ll help you out — he’s blessed with OH super powers dont you know!

Also OSCON this year features the first Open Mobile Exchange. Hosted by Jeff Waugh, its described as ‘a one-day event devoted to exploring the nexus of where mobile meets business, technology, the Web, and open source.‘. Im sure some OH folks will be attending.

Paul from OH will be attending the Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit next week at the UT Supercomputing Center, Austin, Texas.
As part of the summit, the third GNOME Mobile summit will also be taking place. Further details can be found in the press release and schedule.

OpenedHand Christmas 2007
Its customary at OpenedHand that around the festive season we take some time away from the keyboards, get all the team togeather and spend some time indulging in activities that dont involve coding.
This year we spent a day putting 5000 pieces of Lego togeather:

…and the next shooting arrows, clay pigeons and driving 4×4’s and quad bikes around a muddy field in Kent.

Finally the evening was spent in the local pub enjoying a fine christmas meal.
A very merry Christmas to all!
